The company sold kitchen appliances on behalf of Next, B&Q, Boots, House of Frasier and Iceland. In 2011, AO.com invested into a video studio to create video reviews for its Appliances Online and Appliance Review websites. On that same year, they also signed for an initial 15,000 square foot at Bruntwood’s Riverside building in Manchester. The company was rebranded as AO.com in 2013 and started to offer small appliances as well as launched a same-day delivery service.
AO.com occupies a massive 50,000 square foot offices in Bolton and was named as 63rd in the Sunday Times “Best Companies to Work For” list in 2011. They also received the award for Best Customer Service Operation at the 2011 European Call Centre and Service Awards. In 2012 the company leapt to 5th place in the Sunday Times list and went to 4th the following year and retained that position until 2014.
